Abstract:
Objective To study the clinical application value of laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy(LDP) of tumors in pancreatic body and tail.
Methods Clinical data about 15 patients with tumors(confirmed by ultrasound or CT) in pancreatic body and tail who underwent LDP from February 2010 to February 2012(3 with their spleen preserved) were retrospectively analyzed.
Results The operation was quite a success in 13 patients and 2 were transferred to laparotomy. The mean blood loss during operation was 150(50-400)ml.Pancreatic 1eak occurred in one patient and subcutaneous emphysema developed in one patient who was cured after conservative treatment. The mean hospital stay time of the patients was 9.3(3-20)d after operation.
Conclusion LDP has the advantages such as small trauma and rapid recovery compared with the traditional laparotomy. However, its wide application is limited by its difficulty in technique and cost of equipments.
