Abstract:
Objective To study the therapeutic effect of focused ultrasound on soft tissue pain.
Methods A total of 118 patients with soft tissue pain at 126 sites were treated,5min for each site. The average number of treatment times was 8.3±4.3.The therapeutic effect was scored according to the visual analogue scale(VAS) at the end of treatment.
Results The scores for shoulder adhesive capsulitis, forearm extensor and flexor tendinitis general, finger tenosynovitis, spine interosseous ligament injuries, back hip muscle fasciitis, knee ligament injuries, plantar and dorsum fasciitis on VAS before and after treatment were significantly higher after treatment than before treatment(P<0.05).No significant difference was found in scores for knee osteoarthritis on VAS before and after treatment. The total score decreased from 5.5±2.0 to 3.3±2.0.
Conclusion The therapeutic effect of focused ultrasound on soft tissue pain is rather good.Focused ultrasound has a prominent application prospect in rehabilitation medicine, sports medicine and clinical treatment of pain.
