Abstract:
Tendon adhesion, rerupture and tendon bone nonunion due to poor tendon healing are important factors that seriously affect the prognosis. Human amniotic membrane, as a placental intima which is rich in a variety of bioactive substances and stem cells, can prevent tendon adhesion and promote tendon and tendon-to-bone healing. What's more, it is characterized by low immunogenicity, and easy to apply in clinical settings. This paper reviews clinical studies about human amniotic membrane using in the repair of tendon injury, and points out the future trend of its development.
