Preparation and biocompatibility evaluation of nano graphene medical conductive paste

  •   Background  Medical conductive paste is used as a connecting medium to establish a connection between the skin and the lead electrode to collect nerve electrical signals, ECG signals and EMG signals. There are some defects in the current clinical application of medical conductive paste, so it is necessary to develop a medical conductive paste that can overcome the existing defects, with good stability and safety.
Objective  To evaluate the preparation methods and biocompatibility of nano medical conductive paste.
Methods  Nano graphene, humectant, viscous agent, surfactant, disinfection component, gel and phosphate buffer and other raw materials were prepared by homogeneous dispersion, grinding and stirring methods, and their conductivity, adhesion, signal stability and impedance were tested. CCK-8 experiment was used to evaluate the proliferation and toxicity of epidermal cells, and its biocompatibility was evaluated by SD rat epidermis.
Results  The impedance value, conductivity, adhesion and signal stability of nano medical conductive paste were better than those of the traditional medical conductive paste. The cell proliferation test of nano medical conductive paste showed no statistical difference with the blank control group (P>0.05), while the rat epidermal test showed no skin redness and dehydration, and the inflammatory factor index showed no significant difference with the control group (P>0.05).
Conclusion  The preparation method of nano medical conductive paste is feasible and the biocompatibility of nano medical conductive paste is good.
