Abstract
Clinical data about a patient who underwent magnetic capsule endoscopy due to subxiphoid pain admitted to the Department of Gastroenterology, Fuwai Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences in August 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. The imaging data suggested that the patient's heart was significantly enlarged, especially the left heart, and the risk of ordinary gastroscopy was great, so magnetic capsule endoscopy was used. Due to cardiac compression of the esophagus, the middle and upper segments of the esophagus were narrowed, and the patient developed magnetic control capsule endoscopy retention. The occurrence of esophageal retention will cause great risk to patients. Making full use of imaging examination or exploration capsule before examination can reduce the risk of endoscopic retention.
