Construction and application of Access database of burn cases

Objective: To construct a database using Microsoft Access 2000 software in which clinical information of burn cases can be loaded and to investigate it’s application values. Methods: A retrospective study was conducted in 167 cases of burn in 304^th hospital from 2001 to 2004. According to the diagnosis standards for burn, an Access 2000 database was established. （Results: The） database system was successfully constructed and operated smoothly, which possessed of powerful capacity of information processing of burn case record. Conclusions: Microsoft Access 2000 is simple and practical in the construction of burn database, which is beneficial not only to information management of case record but also to clinical, teaching and research works.
