Abstract
Objective: To investigate the antioxygenation of Pu shen-yan-nian-kang-pian(PSYNK) via scavenging oxygen free radical in vivo. Methods: Forty-eight mice were randomly divided into vehicle control, low, middle and high PSYNK dosage groups and administered test material or vehicle for 40 days. Then, venous blood was sampled for measurement of serum malonaldehyde(MDA),activity of superoxide dismutase(SOD) and lutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px),and heart and hepar tissue were collected to detect the content of lipofuscin and lactoperoxidase(LPO),respectively. Results: Compared with vehicle control group,PSYNK could activate SOD and GSH-Px,decrease the content of serum MDA,cardiac muscle lipofuscin as well as hepar LPO.Conclusion: PSYNK can scavenge oxygen free radical effectly in vivo and have the potential effect to prevent organs from oxidative stress damage during aging course.
