Effect of different concentration NO on five bacteria's growth in vitro

  • Ojbective: To investigate the bacteriostatic effect of NO on bacteria's growth in vitro. Methods: Staphylococcus epidermidis, colibacillus, staphylococcus aureus, pseudomonas aeruginosa and Candida albicans were cultured in NO with air and 10×10-6g/L、 25×10-6g/L、 40×10-6g/L NO,placed in cabinet with 37℃ and 45%~60% percent humidity for 24 hours. Results: 10×10-6g/L、 25×10-6g/L、 40×10-6g/L NO had the effect of bacteriostasis on Candida albicans, but no effect on Staphylococcus aureus.25×10-6g/L、 40×10-6g/L NO had the effect on staphylococcus epidermidis and colibacillus.Pseudomonas aeruginosa was restrained by 40×10-6g/L NO.Conclusions: ①NO has bacteriostasis effect on bacteria.②The bacteriostasis effect of NO is concentration dependent.
