Abstract
Objective To study the effect of percutaneous transluminal renal arteriography stenting(PTRAS) on blood pressure of patients with atherosclerotic renal artery stenosis(ARAS). Methods Fifty patients with renal arteriography-diagnosed ARAS who underwent PTRAS were followed-up for 3-48(16.3±14.8)months.Their blood pressures after PTRAS were analyzed. Results The PTRAS was quite successful in the 50 patients with their blood pressure improved. The systolic blood pressure was significantly higher than the diastolic blood pressure 3,6 and 12 months after PTRAS((128.80±18.13)mmHg vs(71.26±9.62)mmHg,(125.41±16.70)mmHg vs(71.58±5.80)mmHg,(129.48±9.67)mmHg vs(73.84±9.58)mmHg,P<0.05). Conclusion The blood pressure deceases in elderly ARAS patients after PTRAS at least for 12 months.
