Disease spectra of hospitalized military pilots in 2007-2010

Objective To provide the reference data for aero-medical support by investigating the disease spectra of hospitalized military pilots in recent 4 years. Methods Clinical data about military pilots admitted to our hospital from November 2006 to November 2010 were analyzed,including their disease spectra,and hospitalized department and age distribution. Results The top 10 diseases of hospitalized military pilots were hypertension,lumbar disc herniation,cervical spondylosis,arrhythmia,headache,ground syncope,renal calculus,anxiety-depression,acceleration intolerance and vertigo.The top 5 specialties-involved diseases were cardiology,neurology,orthopedics,otorhinolaryngology and gastroenterology.The age of hospitalized military pilots was 25-39 years,accounting for 62.6%. Conclusion Cardiovascular disease,nervous and mental disease,and spinal disease are the main diseases of hospitalized military pilots in recent years.The incidence of hypertension,arrhythmia and cervical spondylosis tends to increase.
