Effect of anti-sick hat ingredients on vestibular autonomic nerve reaction

  • Objective To analyze the effect of anti-sick hat ingredients on vestibular autonomic nerve reaction. Methods Ninety male young and healthy pilots were randomly divided into group A(control group),group B and group C,30 in each group.Pilots in group A wore a hat without magnetic disk,ventilator and negative ion generator,pilots in group B wore a hat with magnetic disk but without ventilator and negative ion generator,and those in group C wore an anti-sick hat.Each pilot was asked to wear a corresponding hat 10 minutes before Coriolis acceleration test and seated in a rotary chair until he requested termination because of near-vomiting.The pilots were observed for 20 minutes when they presented with 1°vestibular autonomic nerve reaction.Vestibular autonomic nerve reaction was graded.Degree of vestibular autonomic reaction and exposure time to Coriolis acceleration test were compared. Results The exposure time to Coriolis acceleration test was(349.43±31.60)s,(366.23±32.62)s,and(385.17±35.54)s respectively in 3 groups(P<0.05).The incidence of vestibular autonomic reaction was significantly different in 3 groups(P<0.05). Conclusion Anti-sick hat with magnetic disk,ventilator and negative ion generator can effectively decrease vestibular autonomic nerve reaction in pilots,thus providing some new ideas and measures for the prevention and control of motion sickness.
