Abstract
Objective To study the serum levels of chemerin, CRP and TNF-αin rats with severe acute pancreatitis (SAP). Methods A SAP model was established by injecting 5% sodium taurocholate into the cholangiopancreatic duct.Thirty rats were randomly divided into control group, sham operation group) and SAP group (10 in each group). The rats were killed at 12 h after operation.Their serum levels of amylase, chemerin, CRP and TNF-αwere measured. The pancreas/BMI ratio was calculated.Lesions in pancreatic tissue of rats were observed with HE staining. Results The serum levels of chemerin, TNF-α, and CRP were signif icantly higher in SAP group than in control group and sham operation group (P< 0.01) and positively related with the pathological pancreatic tissue score(r=0.802, 0.785, 0.769, P< 0.01). Conclusion Chemerin may be related with the occurrence and progress of SAP and can be used as one of the important indications for predicting the severity of early SAP.
