Abstract
Objective To study the role of fever features in diagnosis of fever with unknown origin(FUO). Methods Clinical data about 368 FUO patients admitted to our department from January 2009 to December 2010 were retrospectively analyzed. Results The features of fever course, type, highest temperature, time, and chilly, shiver were different in FUO patients(P <0.05). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that fever course and time, chilly and shiver, urinary tract infection, bacterial endocarditis and lymphoma were the independent risk factors for FUO. Conclusion Analysis of fever features is an important clue and way for the diagnosis of FUO.
