Abstract
Objective To study the application of ultrasound-guided thrombin injection(UGTI) in treatment of iatrogenic femoral pseudoaneurysm(IFPA). Methods Thirty-nine IFPA patients admitted to our department from May 2010 to April 2013 were included in this study. The patients were injected with 250 U/ml thrombin(the total dose ≤ 150 U) by percutaneous puncture using the 21G PTC needle. Results The UGTI was successful in the 39 patients with no recurrence after operation and no complication during and after operation. The blood flow signals in tumor cavity disappeared except a small number of few blood flow signals in tumor neck in 3 patients after UGTI. Conclusion UGTI is a simple and reliable treatment modality for IFPA with minimal invasiveness and a low complication and recurrence rate, and can thus be widely applied in clinical practice.
