Establishment of small-size liver transplantation model for cirrhotic rats

Objective To establish the small-size liver transplantation model for cirrhotic rats. Methods Of the 24 SD cirrhotic rats,12 underwent small-size liver transplantation（56.3%） and 12 underwent whole liver transplantation（95.8%）. Results The smallsize liver transplantation model was successfully established for cirrhotic rats.The liver function 24 h after operation and the 7-day survival rate were significantly higher in whole liver transplantation group than in small-size liver transplantation group（P＜0.05）. Conclusion The small-size liver transplantation model for cirrhotic rats can be used as an animal experiment platform for liver transplantation-related research.
