Expression of paxillin and talin in thyroid cancer and its signifcance

  • Objective To study the expression of paxillin and talin in thyroid cancer and its signifcance. Methods Expression of paxillin and talin in thyroid cancer, thyroid adenoma, Hashimoto's thyroiditis and normal thyroid tissues was detected by Western blotting with SP immunohistochemical staining and its relation with pathological type, lymphatic metastasis, infltration degree of thyroid cancer, age and sex of thyroid cancer patients was analyzed. Results The expressional level of paxillin and talin was higher in thyroid cancer tissue than in thyroid adenoma, Hashimoto's thyroiditis and normal thyroid tissues, and was closely related with clinical stage, infltration degree and lymphatic metastasis of thyroid cancer and not related with pathological type, age and sex of thyroid cancer patients. Conclusion High expression level of paxillin and talin in thyroid cancer is closely related with. clinical stage, infltration degree and lymphatic metastasis of thyroid cancer and can predict the prognosis of thyroid cancer patients, thus providing an important evidence for seeking the new treatment target of thyroid cancer.
