Automated urine particle analyzer US 2026 in detecting different kinds of cells

  • Objective To assess the diagnostic performance of automated urine particle analyzer US-2026. Methods Of the 423 urine samples collected from patients who visited the outpatient department or admitted to our hospital from March 1, 2013 to April 1, 2013, 350 were used in cellular diagnosis using US-2026 and 73 were used in cast cell diagnosis using US-2026. Results The sensitivity and specificity of US-2026 were higher than 80% for detecting red blood cells and white blood cells. The rate of red blood cells, white blood cells, cast and epithelial cells that detected using US-2026 was 84.5%, 82.3%, 60.6%, and 78.8%, respectively, which was consistent with that detected by manual microscopy. Conclusion The consistency of US 2026 and manual microscopy is rather good in detecting different types of cells. US-2026 can shorten the detection cycle of urine samples.
