Role of semaphorin 3A in bone remodeling and homeostasis

  • Semaphorin 3A belongs to semaphorin super family. Recent studies have demonstrated that semaphorin 3A plays a pivotal role in bone homeostasis and bone remodeling. This review highlights the bioactivity of semaphorin 3A as well as its impacts on bone cells and nerve innervation in bone tissue. The functional role of semaphorin 3A in bone homeostasis and bone remodeling are summarized in this article in order to provide a novel insight in treating osteoporosis.
