Clinical manifestations, diagnosis and treatment of Ebola virus disease

Abstract
The 2014 West Africa Ebola virus disease (EVD) outbreak is the largest one ever recorded with a case fatality of up to 90%. EVD is characterized by nonspecifc viral syndrome followed by fulminant septic shock and coagulation disorders. There is no effective drug or licensed vaccine. Early recognition of infection, effective isolation and best available supportive care are mai therapeutic strategies. This article provides a review of the clinical characteristics, diagnosis and treatments of EVD.
