Experiment on treatment of chemotherapeutic phlebitis induced by Doxorubicin hydrochloride

  • Objective To observe the effect of mixture topical of 50% MgSO4combined with vitamin B12and 50% glucose in the reatment of phlebitis induced by doxorubicin hydrochloride. Methods Twenty four rabbits were randomly divided into four groups. All rabbits received the injection of 0.2% doxorubicin hydrochloride accounting for 10 ml with an injection velocity of 99 ml/h hrough the veins in two ear of each rabbit. Forty eight hours after the injection, four different treatments were performed. Rabbits in group A were treated with 50% MgSO4, rabbits in group B were treated with vitamin B12and 50% glucose, rabbits in group C were treated with 50% MgSO4, vitamin B12and 50% glucose. The control group (group D) had no treatment. The treatment were performed twice per day and lasted for 1 week, then the results were analyzed. Results Compared with other groups, the effciency of the treatment in group C was the highest of all (P< 0.05). Conclusion The treatment of mixture topical of 50% MgSO4combined with vitamin B12and 50% glucose can signifcantly improve the cure rate of chemotherapeutic phlebitis.
