Advances in Concanavalin A-induced liver injury on immune cells and cytokines

  • Based on the pathogenic characteristics of autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) and virus hepatitis (VH), the Concanavalin A model is safe and convenient to mimics the pathogenesis mechanisms and pathological changes of liver injury better than the CCL4 and D-galN model. Over the last two decades, numerous research groups have successfully shown in vitro and vivo studies on the immune response in Concanavalin A-induced liver injury model. Despite this progress, however, there remains concern over the mechanism of Concanavalin A. In this article, the researches related to Concanavalin A-induced liver injury are reviewed.
