Correlation of endothelial microparticles and atherosclerosis

  • Atherosclerosis is the pathogenic basis of cardio and cerebral vascular diseases, and endothelial microparticles play an important role in the process of atherosclerosis, both of them are the important biological markers of vascular endothelial injury and endothelial dysfunction. Further investigation of endothelial microparticles will be helpful to discover phenotypes of endothelial microparticles which can predict the risk of cardio and cerebral vascular diseases, and this is of positive meaning for the early prevention of cardio and cerebral vascular diseases.
