Clinical and experimental advances in Traditional Chinese Medicine on radiation proctitis

During the radiotherapy of pelvic tumor patients, prevention and treatment of radiation proctitis are always tough problems to clinical workers. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) believes that the incidence of radiation proctitis is the result of deficiency of vitai qi and the accumulation of dampness, heat, toxin evil in intestines. Therefore, the treatment that combined internal and external therapy with Chinese and western medicine has got a prominent effect. Here is a review of clinical and experimental progress of TCM in recent studies.
