Advances in semaphorin 3A: A potential target for bone remodeling

Abstract
Recent studies have demonstrated that Sema3A can promote the formation of osteoblasts and inhibit the osteoclasts at the same time. Moreover, the innervation of nerve fiber in callus plays a pivotal role in fracture healing, and semaphorin 3A, an axon guidance molecule, may regulate bone metabolism by affecting sensory nerve innervation. Recent researches provide sufficient evidence and new perspectives on the biological behavior of Sema3A in bone, which can be used as a new target for the diagnosis and treatment of bone diseases.
