Abstract
Objective To determine the quality of life (QOL) and influencing factors in patients after keratoprosthesis(KPro) implantation using the National Eye Institute Visual Function Questionnaire25 (NEI-VFQ-25). Methods Clinical data about 99 patients underwent KPro implantation in our hospital from December 2005 to December 2015 were retrospectively analyzed. They were divided into 3 groups according to visual acuity (VA) (≥ 0.3, 0.05-0.3, < 0.05) on the basis of the vision injury criterion noted by WHO in 1973. Results The total QOL score were 65.63±13.35 in patients with vision better than 0.3, 44.23±10.61 in low vision group, and 20.97±5.77 in blind patients. Conclusion It suggests that QOL of patients underwent KPro implantation is poor and it is signifcantly correlatied with visual acuity and personal income.
