Advances in measures of ovarian reserve

  • Prediction of ovarian responses prior to stimulation is helpful in tailoring the dosage of gonadotroph in treatment of infertility by the assisted reproductive techniques. Ovarian reserve is closely related to human health. From diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) to premature ovarian failure (POF), it is a gradual process of evolution. If patients are diagnosed and treated in DOR period readily, POF can be delayed or even reversed to a certain extent. Ovarian reserve testing is of great signifcance for female with ovarian surgery or radiochemotherapy to evaluate reproductive potential and formulate an appropriate treatment plan. The article reviews the advances in the measures of ovarian reserve.
