Gene polymorphisms of SLCO1B1 and ApoE in 2 633 Chinese Han elderly patients

  • Objective To investigate the distribution of genetic polymorphisms of SLCO1B1 and ApoE in Chinese Han elderly patients, so as to provide evidences for rational use of drugs in elderly patients. Methods The genetic polymorphisms of SLCO1B1 and ApoE in 2 633 patients with cardiovascular disease admitted to our center from April 2016 to April 2018 were detected by the PCR fluorescence probe technique. The age of the included patients were all greater than 60 years, with 1 427 males and 1 206 females. Results In SLCO1B1 genotype, the frequency of *1a/*1a+*1a/*1b+ *1b/*1b was 78.28% (2 061/2 633), followed by *1a/*5+*1a/*15+*1b/*15 (539, 20.47%) and *5/*5+*5/*15+*15/*15 (33, 1.25%); The distribution of each genotype combination had no statistically significant difference between male and female (P>0.05). The frequency of ApoE E2/E4+E3/E3 was 69.69% (1 835/2 633), followed by the combination of ApoE E3/E4+E4/E4 (430, 16.33%), and E2/E2+E2/E3 (368, 13.98%); The distribution of each genotype combination had no statistically significant difference between male and female (P>0.05). Conclusion Our study demonstrate gene polymorphisms of SLCO1B1 and ApoE in elderly people, which is beneficial for prescribing appropriately in the elderly populations.
