Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to reconsider the physical examination to the air force pilot based on the author's experience in aviation medicine practice, and make suggestion to ensure safety of pilot and flight. 1) Reconsidering the physical examination mode: the flight personnel physical examination mode includes flight physical examination, regular quarter or irregular interim physical examination, regular or irregular full physical examination. The new regulation has new requirements on the medical examination model, mainly presents in the subject of flight physical examination and the timing of regular quarter medical examination, we should study and implement cautiously. 2) Reconsidering the contents of physical examination: we should pay special attention to the new contents in regular quarter physical examination, and the specialty and medical examination project in regular full physical examination has been clearly defined for the first time in the new regulation. Combined with clinical aviation medicine practice of his own, the author has put forward some recommendations for the arrangements of regular or irregular medical examination projects. 3) Reconsidering the relationship between physical examination and medical evaluation: pilot physical examination is the basis of medical qualification. Based on his own clinical aviation medical practice, the author has pointed out that though the pilot's medical examination is normal or healthy, the pilot may not be in a qualified position; meanwhile, the pilot that had flight qualification may be not defined as healthy by the physical examination. The relationships between physical examination, medical evaluation, health grading and physical examination standard are discussed and should be studied well. Only by learning their own accurate concepts and differences can we do a good job to guarantee flight and pilot safety.
