Research advances in magnetic nanoparticles for chemotherapy drug-delivery

Abstract
Recently,targeted therapy as a new treatment philosophy has attracted the attention of clinicians.Magnetic nanoparticle,as a drug carrier,is widely used in tumor drug delivery due to their large surface-volume ratio,good biocompatibility,low toxicity,excellent magnetic response,etc.Generally,the nanoparticle is designed as the core,and then coated with polymer.This construction can reduce the aggregation and help to combine the exterior groups with other molecules,which improves the targeting and drug-carrying efficiency.Researchers use magnetic nanoparticles generating heat in an external alternating magnetic field for local hyperthermia research of tumors.In this article,the latest research advances in magnetic nanoparticles in targeted drug delivery,tumor hyperthermia and corresponding immune response are reviewed.
