Research advances in evaluation and influencing factors of quality of life in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma

  • Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients can achieve a better survival after comprehensive treatments including radiotherapy, chemotherapy and/or targeted treatments. The quality of life (QOL) of patients with long-term survival has become a research hotspot recently.Several well-validated questionnaires including EORTC QLQ-C30 and QLQ-H&N35,FACT-G and FACT-H&N are used for evaluating QOL in NPC patients.Researches show that radiotherapy technology and planning, tumor staging, chemotherapy regimen, physical and psychological condition,gender,age,follow-up time, education level, economic condition, nursing care, etc.will affect the quality of life to some extent.
