Review of prevalences of military training-related injuries in Chinese army

  • Military training is the central task of the army in peacetime. However, the military training related-injuries are not only affecting the effects of military training, but also the leading health problem in the military services. By retrospective analysis of epidemiological data on military training-related injuries in China, we find that the incidence of military training-related injuries varies significantly, ranging from 7.64% to 60.70%. Skeleton system injuries and soft tissue injuries are the most common types of military training-related injuries. Lower limbs are the most injured body part. The injury incidence rate peaks at different periods of training in recruits, and varies between different physical fitness trainings. This review aims to provide evidence to scientific and individualized training program to reduce military training related-injuries.
