Research advances in exercise training in improving symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is a common, preventable and treatable disease characterized by persistent airflow limitation. Patients may experience dyspnea, lower extremity dysfunction, abnormal brain cognitive behavior, shortened life expectancy and decreased immune response. Exercise training can improve the symptoms of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, however, many medical workers lack full understanding of its mechanismthe, which is recognized and summarized in this article.
