Abstract
More than half of patients with heart failure have preserved ejection fraction. The pathogenesis of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is complex, while there is no great breakthrough in its treatment in recent years. At present, the research on the pathophysiological mechanism and treatment of HFPEF is limited by the establishment of proper HFPEF animal models. This paper summarizes the common methods and research advances in establishing HFPEF animal models, in which the models with characteristics of metabolic syndrome seems to become a popular direction in this field.
