Abstract
The maternal-fetal interface is a microenvironment in which the mother is in direct contact with the fetus for information exchange. Exosomes mediate intercellular communication, and recent studies of exosomes at the maternal-fetal interface have confirmed their roles in pregnancy and pathological pregnancy. This article reviews the physiological role of exosomes at the maternal-fetal interface and the research advances in their implication in pathological pregnancy.
