Clinical and imaging characteristics of hypertrophic olivary degeneration secondary to stroke and its therapy: A review

  • Hypertrophic olivary degeneration (HOD) secondary to stroke is a very rare form of synaptic degeneration. Related cases are reported in recent years. In this review, the cases of HOD secondary to stroke reported in domestic and foreign journals from January 1995 to July 2021 are collected, and the general data, clinical symptoms and signs, MRI features, treatments and outcomes of the included cases are reviewed to provide evidence for clinical diagnosis and treatment.
