Abstract
Chronic prostatitis (CP) has high incidence, diverse symptoms and refractory treatment. According to the common clinical symptoms of CP, the modified UPOINT phenotype divides CP into 7 tables: urinary discomfort symptoms, psychosocial disorder, organ-specific symptoms, infection, neurological or systemic symptoms, skeletal muscle tenderness symptoms and sexual dysfunction. Studies find that the psychological status of CP patients is closely related to erectile dysfunction (ED). Adding psychological intervention on the basis of conventional drug treatment can significantly improve ED and the quality of life of CP patients. At present, the pathogenesis of ED caused by the psychological status of CP patients is still unclear, and the treatment is not standardized. This article reviews the relationship, pathogenesis and treatment research progress between psychological status and ED in CP patients with modified UPOINT phenotype, so as to provide reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment.
