Treatment of severe aplastic anemia with transplantation of combined haploidentical hematopoietic stem cells and mesenchymal stem cells:A case report

  • Objective To study the curative effect of transplantation of combined haploidentical hematopoietic stem cells(HSC) and mesenchymal stem cells(MSC) on severe aplastic anemia(SAA). Methods Therapeutic effect of transplantation of combined haploidentical HSC and MSC on SAA was reported in 1 patient with its relevant literature reviewed. Results The hematopoietic function was rapidly recovered in the SAA patient after transplantation of combined haploidentical HSC and MSC.No severe infection and other complications occurred, except for gradeⅡacute graft versus host disease(GVHD). Conclusion Transplantation of combined haploidentical HSC and MSC is a safe and effective treatment modality for SAA.
