Abstract
Objective To study the therapeutic effect of δ-amino-ketovaleric acid photodynamic therapy(δ-ALA-PDT) on condylomata acuminata and its pathologic changes before and after δ-ALA-PDT. Methods Sixty patients with condylomata acuminata were randomly divided into δ-ALA-PDT group,CO2 laser therapy group, and combined δ-ALA-PDT and CO2 laser therapy group.Recurrence of condylomata acuminata and adverse reactions were recorded.Patients in δ-ALA-PDT group received histopathology examination and their inflammation was compared before and after treatment. Results The recurrence rate of condylomata acuminata in 3 groups was 20%,55% and 10%,respectively(P<0.05).The recurrence rate of condylomata acuminata in combined δ-ALA-PDT group and CO2 laser therapy group was the lowest, indicating that the effect of combined δ-ALA-PDT and CO2 laser therapy on condylomata acuminata was the best, followed by δ-ALA-PDT and CO2 laser therapy. The incidence of adverse reactions was the lower in δ-ALA-PDT group than in the other two groups(P<0.05).The number of inflammatory cells was significantly less after δ-ALA-PDT than before δ-ALA-PDT(P<0.05).The inflammation reaction was severer after δ-ALA-PDT than before δ-ALA-PDT. Conclusion δ-ALA-PDT can significantly reduce the recurrence of condylomata acuminata and is a safe and well-tolerated therapy for condylomata acuminata.
