Aidi-induced apoptosis of laryngeal cancer cell line Hep-2

Objective To study the effect of Aidi,a Chinese medicine,on growth and apoptosis of laryngeal cancer cell line Hep-2. Methods Effect of Aidi on growth of Hep-2 cells was detect by MTT assay.Apoptotic Hep-2 cells were observed under a microscope.Cell cycle of Hep-2 cells was detected by flow cytometry（FCM）.Expression of epoxidase in Hep-2 cells was detected fluorescence quantitative PCR. Results Aidi at different concentrations inhibited the growth of Hep-2 cells in a significant time-and dose-dependent manner compared with that in controls（P＜0.05）.FCM showed that Aidi decreased the apoptotic rate of Hep-2 cells at the G1 phase,increased the apoptotic rate of Hep-2 cells at the G2 and S phases and induced the apoptosis of Hep-2 cells.The expression level of epoxidase was higher in Hep-2 cells than in control 24h after treatment with Aidi（P＜0.05）. Conclusion Aidi inhibits the growth of human Hep-2 cells by inducing apoptosis of them.
