Abstract
Objective To analyze the use of drugs in community health service(CHS) institutions of Nanjing,Hangzhou,Hefei,Wuhan,Chengdu, and Xi’an in China and its related policy-influencing factors. Methods The use of drugs in CHS institutions of 6 cities in China and its related policy-influencing factors were investigated using questionnaires and then analyzed by multivariate variance analysis. Results A significant difference was found in the use of drugs among the CHS institutions of 6 cities in China(P<0.05).Whether the CHS institutions were included in the designated health care organizations or they implemented the policy of medical separation or pharmacy support had no significant influence on the rational use of drugs.Drug zero slip/low slip marketing system had a significant influence on the total number of drugs per hundred prescriptions(P<0.05). Conclusion Health departments at different levels should pay attention to the rational use of drugs, increase the policy implementation scale, strengthen the training of physicians and pharmacists in CHS institutions, and spread the common knowledge about rational use of drugs.
