Abstract
Objective: To establish a technique for simultaneous observations of mechanical functions and energy metabolic status in the isolated rat heart model. Methods: Isolated isovolumic rat heart models were prepared, heart hemodynamic parameters were determined and processed by means of establishing a computerized heart function monitoring system, and myocardial energy metabolism was investigated by collecting 31P NMR spectra. Results: By establishing the NMR isovolumic rat heart preparation, the mechanical and metabolic functions of the heart were sequentially observed on real time, and all the hemodynamic and myocardial energy metabolic data could be obtained just after the experiments finished. Meanwhile ,the heart preparations were found to be stable under the NMR experimental conditions. Conclusion: The established isovolumic rat heart preparations for simultaneous NMR and hemodynamic determinations may provide advanced techniques that are very useful for domestic findamental researches in cardiovascular medicine.
