Effects of temperature on ATP of ACD-blood and CPDA-blood during blood preservation

  • Objective:To study the ATP of ACD and CPDA-blood during the preservation under non-4°C conditions. Methods:Measure the value of ATP by fluorophotometry. Results:The value of ATP changed at 4°C was compared with those at 22°C,28°C and 33°C during blood preservation. CPDA-blood containing adenine maintained higher ATP than ACD-blood at above temperatures. Conclusion:According to the permitted lowest limit of ATP (1.5 umol/gHb), we found the new RBC survival periods under 22°C,28°C,33°C.And the CPDA-blood may maintain higher ATP than ACD-blood at above temperatures.
