Abstract
Gaeltec pressure transducer is a kind of epidural transducer preduced in 1980s, but theliteratures about its clinical application are rare yet. We use this transducer to do epidural pressure monitoring on 20 patients following surgery and compare it with ventricular pressure or lumber puncture pressure. The results showed that the Gaeltec transducer can measure intracranial pressure correctly and is convenience to use or nurse and permits readjusting the zero point in vivo, so is very suitble for neurosurgery. In discussion, author estimate the value of epidural pressure monitoring and present some usage or caution for Gaeltec transducer.
