Initial investigation on the streptomycin-depending of M. tuberculosis

  • Objective: To investigate the streptomycin-depending of clinical isolated strains of M.tuberculosis. Methods: The isolation and drug-depending of tuberculosis were done by double-phase Kuang’s agar medium, and the drug-resistance of tuberculosis were carried by Kuang′s agar medium. Results: The condition of depending streptomycin in 184 clinical isolates of M.tuberculosis were as follows: The strains which grew faster and more vigorous in the drug tubes than those in the contrast tubes, and the growth in high concentration tubes≥those in low concentration tubes covered 11.41%(21/184);The strains which grew faster and more vigorous in the drug tubes than those in the contrast tubes, and the growth in low concentration tubes>those in high concentration tubes covered 2.72%(5/184);The strains which grew faster and more vigorous in low concentration tubes than those in the contrast tubes, and the growth in high concentration tubes<those in the contrast tubes covered 4.35% (8/184);The strains which grew faster and more vigorous in high concentration tubes than in the contrast tubes, and the growth in low concentration tubes<those in the contrast tubes covered 4.35%(8/184);In brief, the streptomycin-depending strains among clinical isolates covered 22.83%(42/184). Conclusion: There were streptomycin-depending strains in the clinical isolates of tuberculosis, and different depending features were existed among those strains.
