Concentration of plasma amino acids in 238 normal subjects

  • The values of plasma amino acids (aa) in 107 subjects have been reported previously in an article (Bull of PLA Post Med College 1984;5 (4):341). After that, more plasma specimens were obtained from individuals of various ages together with those reported previously to 238. Plasma aa were determined in group one aged from 18 to 59 years and group two were over sixty examined in 1981 to 1984.The normal values of 18 plasma aa and the molar ratio of BCAA/AAA in 238 Chinese adult subjects were presented in table 1 and difference in concentrations of aa was revealed between plasma and serum. The correlations of both values were showed as regression equations e. g. Y(serum)=a+bx,X(plasma)=a’+b’y(table 2.).
