The Role of Ca2+-ATPase in the Pathogenesis of Allergic Asthma inGuinea Pigs

  • The immeditate-type of allergic asthma animal model was established in sensitized guinea pigs by inhalation with ovalbumin. Respiratory impedance(Zrs),activity of Ca2+-ATPase in lung tissue, effect of anisodamine (654-2) and verapamil on them were observed,The results sho-wed that Zrs in asthma group was increased than that in normal group (P<0.01),that activity of Ca2+-ATPase in lung tissue of asthma group was lower than that of normal group (P<0.01).The results suggested that decrease of Ca2+-ATPase activity in lung tissue may be an important factor in the pathogenesis of the allergic asthma. The increase of intracellular Ca2+may relate to decrease of Ga2+-ATPase activity.Anisodamine can increase Ca2+-ATPase activity.Verapamil has no effect on Ca2+-ATPase activity.
