Chronic pulmonary disease（COPD）accompanying peptic ulcer

234 cases with COPD and corpulmonale with complete clinical data were collected from 1970in our hospital,48 of these patients were accompanied by peptic ulcer,accounting for 20.5%.The incidence is higher than that of less than 10% in general population.This paper also analy-sed the incidence of peptic ulcer and discussed the possible factors of COPD accompanying pepticulcer.These include:（1） hypercapnia and anoxia for a long period;（2） the possible relationshipbetween cerebral cortex and gut connection;（3） smoking;（4） hyperazotemia causing lowering ofthe resistance of stomach mucosa.This results indicate the importance of theraputic method ofdiscovering PU for COPD and considering the presence of peptic ulcer in cases.
