Abstract
Objective: To observe the kinds and the sensitivity to antibiotics of extended spectrum β lactamase producing bacteria. Methods: Extended spectrum β lactamase producing bacteria were detected by double disk diffusion test in patients' specimens, their susceptibility to antibiotics was also examined by routine test. Results: Extended sprectrum β lactamase producing bacteria in specimens of the sterile regions held the positive rate of 47%. Of which Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumonia account for the majority. All extended sprectrum β lactamase producing bacteria were sensitive to impenem. They and lower resistant rate to amikacin, higher resistant rate to piperocillin had third generation cephalosporins. Thery were also resistant to quinolone simultaneously. Conclusion: There are various kinds of extended sprectrum β lactamase producing bacteria with high resistance to many antibiotics in daily use.
