Displaced supracondylar fractures of the humerus in children treated by overhead olecranon traction

A simple method for treating the severely displaced, supracondylar fractures of humerus in children, and is described the results of treatment are reviewed. The method of treatment involves the use of overhead taction via an olecranon screw and a traetionclip. Of the 15 children treated in this way, 12 had excellent results with preservation of the normal carrying angle, and without significant impairment of movement in any plane. There were nocomplications following the treatment and no case of cubitus varus occurred.
