Vitrectory of traumatized eyes with no light perception

  • Objective: To evaluate the effects of vitrectomy for serious traumatized eyes with no light perception(NLP).Methods: We performed surgical treatment of vitrectomy on 11eyes with NLP of 11patients.The mean follow-up period was 22months(6-acuities 48months).Results: Postoperatirely,5 of 10patients had visual of light perception to 0.1.Five remained NLP.Conclusions:The serious opacity of refractive media,the damaged or detached retina and the choroids edema are the main causes of NLP.Some patients of NLP may get some visual acuities after surgical treatment of vitrectomy.
